It is with great pleasure for Classic Construction Models to announce the latest addition to our 1:48 scale collection of die-cast models, the Cat® 6040 Hydraulic Mining Shovel. This model will be available in both the Backhoe and Face Shovel configurations which will fill the gap in our legendary 1:48 scale Cat® hydraulic mining shovel diecast lineup. Measuring approximately 13.85″L x 6.75″W x 7″H on the Face Shovel and 15.5″L x 6.75″W x 9″H on the Backhoe these will display proud and tall in any collection.
Features include a highly detailed and accurate operator’s station that’s complete with control levers and joysticks, foot pedals, comprehensive instrumentation panels, opening cab door, individually linked free-rolling track pads wrapped around working tensioners, idlers, and bogeys. The boom, stick and buckets can all be put through their full range of motion and allow for a wide range of display positions. All of this is finished off with Caterpillar® approved paint, warning labels and machine markings for complete accuracy. Models will be packaged in a collector quality box with an individually signed and serial-numbered certificate of authenticity.
The Cat® 6040 Hydraulic Mining Shovels are still in the first stages of development, but progress photos, production quantities, pricing and delivery information will be updated as soon as we can provide. I don’t understand why the models made are not of interest to the average collector such as myself, that’s just my opinion
Not again a Mining Excavator….a 980C a 966C or a D6D would be nice Models.
I know why they’re not interesting and that’s my opinion… because you pay $1000 or more for a model and then put that model in a closet where it collects dust, it’s the same as buying a car and not using it. Some of the models are really great (I’m talking about the 1:24 scale) because they are bigger and have more details, but I don’t like the rest. I have a CNC and 3D print at home and I make models of my choice, which means that I first draw a 3D model and then make it… and that is a real pleasure because you create something yourself and in the end you are very satisfied.
Don’t get me wrong….I have bought CCM 1:24 scale models and will continue to buy them….but the rest of the scale lacks detail in my opinion…

Nehmt euch Zeit und produziert ein großartiges Modell.
Es sollte wieder mal ein Bagger Modell werden auf das man Stolz sein kann in Punkto Qualität, Details und Verarbeitung.
Habe den 6060 zwar gekauft, aber ich bin nicht zufrieden und etwas enttäuscht von dem Modell.
Hier hätte mehr herausgestellt werden müssen im Bereich Details!
Also macht es bitte besser beim 6040
