Few pieces of equipment are more representative of the history of Caterpillar than their D8 track-type tractors. This family of machines has been an integral part of the Caterpillar line from its farm and agricultural roots to the construction and mining equipment powerhouse it is today. Recognizing the importance of this machine to the heavy equipment industry, Classic Construction Models has decided to replicate the Cat® D8K as a stunning 1:48 scale die-cast model. Produced in 3 configurations, with each one being suited for different tasks on the job site, the D8K will be available with: Closed ROPS with U-blade & Multi-Shank Ripper, Closed ROPS with S-blade & Single-Shank Ripper, and Open ROPS with A-blade & Cat 58 winch.
At approximately 7″ long, 3.75″ wide, and just under 3″ to the top of the cab, the level of detail realized on the D8K is second to none. The engine bay doors open to reveal the turbocharged D342 engine complete with hoses and wiring, while the cab door opens to provide an unobstructed view of the cab interior including accurately replicated steering and hydraulic controls, brake pedals and instrumentation. Other areas of exceptional detailing include the undercarriage with individually linked, free-rolling tracks, functional sprockets, idlers, and track tensioners, as well as modeled rollers and bogies. Working hydraulic cylinders, positionable rippers, and fully articulated blades match the functionality of these machines and allow for a wide range of display options.
The Cat D8K Track-Type Tractor will be packaged in a collector quality box with an individually signed and serial-numbered certificate of authenticity. With a limited production run in each configuration, be sure to place a request today before they are all spoken for.

Open ROPS w/ripper.Not sure it would not be easy to mix and or match options for small additional cost. Really overall looks great.
