We recently received production samples of our upcoming die-cast 1:48 Cat® 988B Wheel Loaders, and after review by both CCM and Caterpillar®, production has been approved and is underway on these incredibly detailed scale replicas.

The 988B has been limited to 500 pieces with a retail price of $279.95 plus shipping, while the Beadless Tire variation is limited to 300 pieces and has been priced at $299.95 each in this one-time production run.

Shipping internationally has always been challenging, but right now it is impossible to predict the timeline with any accuracy as supply chain delays could cause what is normally a 6-week process to stretch out to 18 weeks or longer.  As such, it is unknown when these models will be available to ship from CCM, however we will keep you up to date with this model’s progress on our blog.

  • Hi Jeff Just inquiring to see if anyone has fell through with their deal on the 633D scraper for I’m still interested in one please thanks you Cran turner from down under

  • The final drives looks more like a cat 980c than a cat 988B it should be smaller in diameter and further into the rims, and the shovel teeth are too small in my opinion should be corrected, everything else looks great

  • Looking greatI have pre ordered the V edge Rock Bucket version because my mate operated one and i have been on it . It would be nice if you sold seperate tire kits for both so you can swap tires. As i would have preferred the V edge rock bucket version with rubber tires and my friends 988B had the proper V edge wear plate package on the bucket. But this seems that it hasn’t so maybe also sell an additional detailing kit? Thanks for another great model

  • Why are there no perforations on the rock bucket grill ? In the past, this has always been a feature on bucket grills for any CCM model (as long as it’s real life counterpart featured the same). I realize these are just pre-productions samples. That said, I would like to know if the actual model “will” feature see through grills; instead of just making the entire bucket a single cast in order to save $.
The lack of grill perforations “will” be a deal breaker for me. I was planning on purchasing both of these 988 models through an on-line retailer I do business with. The reason collectors pay the “much” higher price for a CCM model is it always has had (at least in the past) these type of realistic features. Without them, I might as well pay the much cheaper price for a couple of Diecast Masters’ CAT loaders.

On a parting note….when will the 350’s be going into production ? I’ve heard everything from- there were issues with the casting and therefore will not be out until late spring of 2022; to- due to a lack of pre orders, these models are longer scheduled for production. Can you give me an answer either way. It would be appreciated, as I try to plan out which models I’m going to buy months ahead of time.
