The Caterpillar D7 Track-Type Tractor was introduced in the 1940s to replace the RD7. It had a 831 cubic-inch, 4-cylinder diesel engine producing 80 drawbar horsepower. It comes standard with sealed and lubricated tracks. For movement and steering each track was independently controlled by a slow speed, heavy duty, dry multiple disk clutch and contracting band brake. A true Caterpillar classic, the D7 was in production for over twenty years, and still doing hard work decades after.
