Caterpillar Cast-Iron Tractor

It is no surprise that we have an affinity to early Caterpillar history here at CCM, which is why in 2009 we decided to reproduce the 1930’s Arcade cast-iron Caterpillar tractor.  Some of the first toys to carry the Caterpillar name, these cast-iron tractors were the preferred choice in the sandbox and back yards across America, just as the real machines were in the field.  Recognizing that many young “operators” of that time gained their first hands-on experience with these toys, Classic Construction Models created a unique cast iron toy tractor that perfectly complements the originals.

Measuring 6.5” long, 5.25” wide, and 5.5” tall, our cast-iron tractor features stamped steel covers which open to reveal a fully detailed engine with radiator fan and belt, linked steel tracks, and brightly plated steel to mimic the original.  Styled like a Cat Twenty with curved fenders, this incredible model weighs in at just over 5 pounds.  While our tractor looks similar to the original toys produced by Arcade, all of the features on our Caterpillar tractor are entirely unique to ensure that while it is complementary to the original toys, it will not be mistaken for one.

A ten-disc harrow was specially designed to fit on our cast iron Caterpillar tractors. Hand crafted from brass with chrome plated discs, it’s the perfect accessory for either of our cast iron tractors. Patterned after the real ones that were used to prepare plowed ground for planting, it looks ready to go to work. This harrow is designed to be installed without tools or modifications to the tractor.

With the yellow version nearly sold out, and approximately 50 each of the gray tractor and 10-disc harrow accessory remaining in stock here at CCM, don’t miss out on your opportunity to add this incredible piece of Caterpillar memorabilia to your collection!
