Caterpillar designed the 630K Series wheel tractor-scrapers, including the Cat^® 637K, as a complete update to their 630G Series.  Equipped with high-pressure steering, engine-over-speed protection, tire-spin reduction, differential-lock-engagement protection, and machine/ground-speed control, these machines improve productivity and efficiency for any operator, no matter their experience level.  Optional systems such as Sequence Assist, Load Assist, Payload Estimator, and Cat Grade Control automate processes, including bowl and apron positions, across the four core work cycles: Dig, haul, unload, and return.

The 637K features dual engines with a Cat C18 ACERT™ providing 570 HP to the tractor while a Cat C9.3 ACERT powers the scraper with an additional 290 HP.  Push/ pull features allow multiple scrapers to work in tandem to move more earth in the same amount of time.  The payload capacity of the open-bowl 637K is 34 cubic yards.

New cab interiors feature a redesigned dash, as well as visibility and operator-comfort enhancements. Maintenance improvements include a ground-level service filter bank, and the 637K’s Fuel Economy Mode adjusts shift points and power distribution for optimum fuel economy.
