Introduced in 1974 as the replacement for the D9G, the Caterpillar® D9H Track-Type Tractor was was only manufactured in the USA. The D9H came standard with a D353 turbocharged, after-cooled six-cylinder engine producing 410 flywheel horsepower. It came standard with pinned equalizer bar suspension, pilot hydraulic implement system, sealed and lubricated track (SALT), combined braking and steering controls, and powershift transmission. The D9H was also available as a dual model connected front and rear (DD9H) or side-by-side (SxS).
